Shadow Boxes

According to Wikipedia (the completely accurate source of all necessary information), "assemblage art consists of making three-dimensional or two-dimensional artistic compositions by putting together found objects", and "a shadow box is an enclosed glass-front case containing an object or objects presented in a thematic grouping with artistic or personal significance." I borrow from these artistic styles, creating works uniquely my own.

In most cases, I use a photograph (mine or something from Creative Commons) as the backdrop, and build out a scene. Most of the material is found or manufactured by me. Some artwork includes stuff sitting around the house (weird things I've saved for no apparent reason).

Please scroll down through some of my favorite pieces.
